mindFulness | photography as a means to approach meditation
Photography is the ultimate expression of what is happening now. When you press the shutter, you capture nothing but this very moment. It is a rapid, sincere and detailed picture of the present. And that is mindfulness, to pay attention, on purpose, for a determined time, to see how do you feel, what do you want, who you are; to stop and to connect with the present; no judging, no expectations, just the real state of things.
mindFulness series is an invitation. Do you feel like exploring new territories? Would you like to see the world from a different perspective? Do you dare to know a little bit more about yourself? This series of abstract artworks are created with the aim of offering a way to approach mindfulness, being a focusing tool for meditation.

“Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and nonjudgementally”
Jon Kabat-Zinn, founder of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program at the University of Massachusetts Medical Centre.
This ideogram represents the word mindfulness. It’s comprised of a “roof” in the upper side, and a “heart” or “mind” in the middle/lower side. That means “a shelter for your heart or mind”. Mindfulness is a way to get home, to your own home, that is nothing more than yourself.
